Black Teen Process Group

          Black Teen Process Group

Monday from 6:30 – 7:30 PM via Zoom

Led by Mia Bishop, LAPC

This group is designed for Black-identified teens (15 and up) of all genders to have a safe space to express and process their life experiences. By processing in group, members develop a deeper understanding of themselves and each other and their shared experience. The group will be centered around embracing cultural identity, building self-esteem, defining boundaries, improving communication, and goal setting.

Mia Bishop has a BA in Psychology from Stetson University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. Prior to becoming a therapist, she worked as a teacher, and has a deep commitment to helping young people grow and learn.

In her individual and group work with clients, Mia is passionate about facilitating self-discovery in an environment where young people can build their social and emotional skills and strengthen their confidence. When she is not working, Mia enjoys playing with her pup, Luna, as well as traveling, reading, and feeding a slight obsession with Marvel movies and Anime.

“Everyone deserves a safe and supportive environment that allows for exploration of their true self. My goal as a therapist is to create trusting relationships where health and healing can grow.” – Mia Bishop
